Great point! Also consider Monopolies don't innovate. We will hear massive FUD: "China bad". We want PROFIT TO BE ZERO like Linux and Wikipedia to make models work for people.

DeepSeek came up with their solution because they didn't have access to as many GPUs as their American counterparts. If American companies had constrained their energy consumption because it's the right thing to do, they might've gotten to a similar solution before DeepSeek. 4/

The funning thing is they took the ideas for their model leveraging a mixture of experts from Academic papers everyone had access too. The entire idea of Mixture of Experts models is to get better efficiency. Yet American tech firms through their weight behind more compute LLMs.

Agree with you - those who do not care to burn the earth - cry & moan that are not allowed to burn it down - and leave us with all the damages- now we cannot protect ourselves - insurances are leaving or are very high.
