i'm a major fan of what the feel of properly flawed hardware adds to worldbuilding/ era appropriateness. it's one thing to emulate something at above spec, it's another thing to fully capture the quirks of "why were things like that"

Think you’re over thinking it, it’s an art project for fun not a real usable product. It’s about feeling authentic not being ergonomically correct and older handhelds where extremely unfriendly so it’s playing up to that reference.

Is there a reason why this can't be developed into a full fledged product. I would imagine there would be a huge market of people wanting to buy a retro-style handheld particularly if the OS was open-source so anyone could develop apps for it without a license.
