That'd be wild already, but I feel like they should a bigger scaled threat to match. Maybe they're a big entertainment corpo that has a match fixing scheme where they make the caster's curse canonically real by paying off the in-game observers to relay their information to the team they want to win.
i feel like it's also narratively solid though for them to run up against this first big obstacle not quite knowing the scale of how bad it runs, only to be forced into a thirteenth-hour compensatory nightmare when they do finally learn just how fucked they might be
