You're right. I kept thinking I wanted to move a little so the duck was framed by that diagonal branch behind it rather than having it popping out of its back, but it was getting jumpy from me being so close, and in fact it flew away just after I got this shot. Thanks!

People come and feed them throughout the day, and the pond is adjacent to a very busy footpath, so they are somewhat used to people, but they are quite skittish if you move fast or get too close, yes.

Beautiful. Over the past few years. I’ve come to realize duck feet are tougher than I’d imagined. Their feet look & feel so fragile, yet they seem to handle snow & ice just fine.

Yes, i was a little concerned that it was standing with wet feet on a metal railing, but I guess it wasn't quite cold enough to freeze and stick. Today they were all waddling around in the snow and it didn't seem to bother them.

Yes, I feel the same. I love that Canada is standing up to him. I wish he could just be "fired." I know there is impeachment, but that did nothing the last time. And toss out all his cronies with him.
