Stephens article unbelievably naive in conception and cynical in the assumption that anybody would read it with credulity. There are no heroes in this story, obviously. Coming from a "modest" background doesn't make you moral or heroic.
this is why I never read it. while I find the murder appalling the solution to scumbags like Thompson is for no one to buy that insurance, not to kill executives. not sure why employers pick it as it is a work disincentive. is their slogan "buy us, we'll make big profits and provide little service"?
Ooh, sorry — that preventive diagnostic procedure isn’t covered under your plan. What? Yes, I see you have a premium plan, and yes, I understand the procedure is meant to avoid far more costly treatments for serious disease later, but maybe during the next open enrollment period you can chose better
The original is just as bad. Seriously, fuck that dude and his shifty opinion.
They are doing a full court press on trying to quell the rising rage against the 1%
His brand of conservative bullshit is quaint at this point. His own tribe doesn’t even buy it anymore. You could write that exact same article, just replace Brian Thompson with Immortan Joe and the logic would be exactly the same.
They really want us to redirect our collective fury and they are increasingly desparate that it’s not working. I don’t have faith in people that we can sustain this justified anger. But I’ll enjoy the ride until they find a way to distract and divide us again
"Y'see, we had to have some stupid dumb$%#@ in order to balance out the really smart people on the other side. Marketing, my good man, it's all marketing!"
I wanted to make commentary on the piece, but you can't do on opinion work. If He was such a working class here, how did he not feel what real people were agonizing and going through? I don't know how any of the employees sleep at night.
Sorry, I didn't realize this was not the correct title. But it most certainly should have been. I wanted to make a commentary on the article, but of course she cannot do that on your opinion pieces. I frequently make comments on both the times and WaPo, And I always read the comments.
Just pocketing $15m from cashing out my company’s stock before the public knows about that antitrust investigation, like a real working-class hero does
I’m just enjoying the sweat stains from anxiety in the ruling class over the glimmerings of a peasant revolt. However, that eventually results in a lot of unpleasantness.

The conservative donor strategy of subsidizing them till they make it sadly pays dividends.
(and I do mean 'its')
What a fall for the Old Grey Lady.
The USA has the death penalty for murderers.
The difference here is who dispenses the justice: the bourgeois' minions (the State) or the People.
