Big agreement with both of these points. Trump has been able to implement a personalist presidency with no resistance from Congress, and Musk has operated as an accelerant for deinstitutionalization

Exactly captures my thoughts. 47 is also an aging lame duck. Can the trance be broken when he's physically gone? And how many generations of damage have been done. This does not end well in any direction.
Trump didn’t earn power. He didn’t take anyone’s power. The GOP in Congress just willingly gave away their power. The question is why? I don’t buy into the belief they are afraid of him.
Trump is doing something by force that GOP could never do legislatively - shrinking the administrative state & shifting to privatization. They’re fine with giving up their Constitutional role & power even if it’s illegal. But there’s also death threats from the MAGA mob to keep everyone in line.
The idea that a President would authorize a secretive gang of unaccountable hackers to illegally dismantle the government wasn't on anyone's kanban board tbh
The issue is donnie.
Which is why RE-electing a psychopathic, pathologically lying, malignantly narcissistic, criminal, racist, Russian asset, is a bad idea.
Strong work, America!!
