But how is an employer allowed to psychologically and physically torture a citizen of the U.S.? Aren't well all covered under the Constitution? Your logic does not sound correct to me.

The Constitution (broadly speaking) defines the relationship btwn the govt and citizens. The relationship btwn private companies and employees is defined by a patchwork of common law, state/local laws/NLRB rulings/OSHA regs, etc. Assault, torture etc are criminal acts everywhere, for everyone.
They are typically matters for local law enforcement. So, if a boss hit you in the face and broke a tooth, or shoved you in a closet and blasted loud music for three weeks straight, you call the cops. If they try to force you out of the company by “making your life miserable,” you call a lawyer.
In most cases, employers are allowed to fire anyone anytime for any reason. So, the law is typically on their side, so long as they are not criminal or violating some kind of labor/employment law. And to be clear, I’m not defending this structure, I’m describing it.
It’s a good question. I’ve not seen reporting on this, but unless fired for certain reasons (criminal offenses, etc), they should keep vested portions.
Hello @algebrafrombith.bsky.social ! First, thank you for your explanation between the general population of workers and the federal workers. My point has been that there are no laws that cover the general population workers.
But when there are no laws, this emboldens the GOP and people in corporations to do all the wrong things. So it's not surprising now that they want to annihilate workers on the federal level. If the government does not take care of the people, then the people will revolt.
I think this is what MAGA did. And the proof is all the revolutions, toppled governments, toppled monarchies. You only need to look at Post WWI Germany when Hitler came to power. What the GOP and tech billionaires have done is no different.
I understand. The issue with trying to get an attorney, it seems like many attorneys do not want to take a case like mine, so I could not find representation. Our laws are lacking!!
Yes! How are there no outlets and no way for me to get justice after being tortured both psychologically and physically from the management of an organization? How is that possible even in a democracy? And thank you for the explanation!
