I got my original plant at the Sacvalley CNPS many years ago. I don’t see Castilleja offered very often but it should be. Even though, like all Indian paintbrushes, it is hemiparasitic it has been easy to grow from seed in the greenhouse and easy to establish in the yard.

I went mostly native about a year or two ago. Right now in the central valley, I've got almost no color, it's grim for the next month or so, this would be a nice change of pace.

We talked on post. Your son lives down the street from me. I took a break from social media. I have a large yard with about 300 native plants so I can find something blooming most of the year. I’ll try to post as they bloom. Good to see you.
