For instance, it's patently false that AZT killed more people than AIDS. AIDS was always a comorbidity in people who reacted poorly to AZT. It did, however, improve the outcomes of several people. The culprit in my eyes is one size fits all treatment for bodies that aren't entirely the same.

So where as the Trump conspiratards say, the sin of Fauci in AIDS was AZT. I disagree with this. The sin of Fauci in that era as well as COVID, wasn't entirely his. It was split with the federal government having an official one size fits all treatment protocol.

One size fits all treatment that does not work for every patient. This is why, as many men who lived through AIDS say "Fauci saved my life." as say, "The Buyer's Club saved my life from Fauci". More options make for better outcomes when nuance is key. MD's who treat patients should have options.

See my personal thoughts on this are that the conspiracy folks and the folks that get everything from their choice of corporate/political propaganda journalism are both about 25% correct. The other 50% of the truth, none of us are likely ever to know, but we're all allowed to have our suspicions.

1/2 For instance, with traditional vaccines. It is true that a majority are safe and effective for a majority of the population. It's also true that a small cross-section of society get brain injuries, autoimmune diseases, and various organ failures. This is why we have the VI claims system.
