I gagged my way thru the Times article with visions of a Margaret Atwood dystopia at the front of mind. Between this and forced pregnancy I don't know how these people could be more gross, but I'm sure they will figure out a way.

The problem I have with the "let's give people $ directly so they can spend it however they like, including staying home, rather than build childcare infrastructure that preferences working mothers" is that you can't spend $ on something that isn't available.
