I’m on the Pope’s side as a Catholic. However there’s been a growing schism between the Vatican and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops for a while now and is pushing a lot of American Catholics away from the church, as the leadership of the USCCB doesn’t often reflect the views of the “flock”.

Had an argument with a catholic 4 days ago. He wants and believes the American Catholics are going to schism and create a theocracy in America with the help of the multiple Catholics in the trump admin. Absolutely sick shit with around 100 pictures and articles pretty much saying so.

I'm agnostic but live block away from local parish church/school. A very conservative Bishop came few yrs ago. Since, we have seen this separation come into play in our neighborhood as gay and trans church members have been pushed out. Including children (& their families). It's been painful to see.

Odd thing is that the Church of England IS the established state religion in England (not Scotland & N. Ireland), but the result all these years later is that very few people in UK are practising Christians. Although quite a few still claim to be Christian
