I’m going to my first #GordonResearchConference (Organic Reactions and Processes) in the upcoming summer - I am SO excited! 😀 Anything I should know? #ChemSky

Expect hot, humid weather. I haven’t been to this site so I don’t know how modern or rustic the accommodation will be. Least important of all: I’ll be there!
Is this conference still at Bryant? I live a few miles from there. Someone usually arranged a few off-campus excursions/activities. I can offer suggestions if needed.
Absolutely, I have never been to RI… suggestion to get there? I could get a flight to Boston directly or have one connexion and fly to RI (interestingly the GRC bus is $62 from Boston or RI to Bryant 😅).
There is no easier airport in America than Providence. But if you want a direct flight, Boston is the way to go. It’s about an hour drive from there to Bryant.
Do all the social stuff. I am an introvert and need some recharge time, so I really had to force myself to mingle and meet folks. I GREATLY expanded my network from attending a GRC a few summers ago.

yes. you should definitely approach that one knowing that you're going to need a healthy liver later in life...
I’m going to ACS but the ORP GRC is only like a 45 min ride from my house - I should stop up for a bit one afternoon
This is your chance to meet the established in the field but also to meet the people of your age who will become so later
