I usually have a mental outline of what I want to accomplish, but deliberately leave it somewhat flexible as I like to allow for serendipity to intervene in a shoot. My favorite ones always feel collaborative with the model.

Basic goal is to capture something we're both happy with

Each shoot is a little different, but in general.

I want to create mood, atmosphere, a story. Then set the frame and let the models personality, beauty and creativity stand out and complete that story.

🤔… i have noted that there are two ways to approach this (at least for me) - first one is to have concept in mind, verbalize it and work towards it. And then the other one, where it’s all about process and experimentation, chasing the feeling. The second one is usually more creative for me🤷‍♂️

I look for what is most beautiful to me about the subject in terms of physicality, pose or emotion and find an intersection between model and environment on which to hang some narrative thread.

In regards to goals for the photography. Everyone who models for me is required to complete a pre-shoot screening and interview process first, which includes reading a PDF document with a list of ongoing goals.

I enjoy creating art nude images, but my goal is for people to think, “how beautiful”, not “how sexy”. This I have set myself a different goal which is to create images with a high narrative content 😊
