Far as I can tell, One Piece is mostly a series of connected stories of horrifying childhood trauma masquerading as a fun pirate adventure story - and I'm definitely hooked.

Who knew that such an absurd premise and fucking ridiculous character designs would turn out to have such phenomenal writing?
