So I -just- began my journey into watching the wonderful world of One Piece for the first time recently... and the timing of spotting your post feels like providence! 🤣

Enjoy it however you want! There are times when Toei(the animation studio) take some creative liberties with the anime, and the pacing in the show can be sluggish at times, but its still great.
Reading it will give you the story as it's most intended.
(also the English dub is good too!)
