The magnitude of stopping research abruptly cannot be overstated. Quality research takes years to complete, extremely careful planning and follow up, and even if funding were to be restored tomorrow (yeah, I know), so much damage has already been done. It’s literally sickening.

Since my diagnosis of T1D in 1984, I have known classmates, coworkers, and friends who died from it because left and right leaning parents, religious leaders, and ultimately desperate patients themselves believe the idea that there is a natural cure/replacement for insulin therapy exists.

I think that is an element many miss in the MAGA movement: people want to believe in control and an easy, natural fix. And that’s all people, not left or right.

Yes, I'm very grateful for having access to a pump and CGM as they've worked well for me in contrast to multiple injections. Especially since one unit +- can drop or raise my bs by 150. I think every D should have access to at least a CGM.

Fellow T1D here, diagnosed in ‘91. We all should have access to any kind of medical intervention needed. It’s a matter of life and death and everyone thinks we can change if we eat more veggies. I’m in full agreement with you that the CGM is the greatest tool we have. Keep fighting the good fight!

Johns Hopkin’s, Dr. John Aucott is one of the foremost investigators in the country/world in clinical studies/research into the persistence of Borrelia Burgdorferii beyond known ABX treatments. That research, eg: MRNA, also leads understanding SARS-COV2, ie: ‘Long COVID’.
