That Alito and Thomas chose to pretend to believe the lies presented should remove any doubt about whether they respect the law as applying to facts before them. They do not. Alito’s dissent shows he is every bit as willing to make up present facts as he is historical ones.

I think of adherence to the law very similarly to adherence to religious faith. Hebrews defines faith as being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we have not yet seen. It does not require blatant disregard of what we have in fact seen. Neither should the law.

We have to keep reminding those in Congress that the voters can vote them out of office unless they start working "for the people" they were elected to support. We don't have to wait for the regular elections we can get enough signatures to do a recall election.

In this moment, I am cautiously optimistic that enough justices are opening their eyes to the facts before them, and applying the law to those actual facts, that Trump can be legally reined in. The question that remains is whether Congress can choose to assert its power too.

You are sympathetic to SCOTUS? They allowed ALL of what we are experiencing in 2025 to happen; one with the immunity gift ruling and two, allowing him on all state ballots in 2024. The Supreme Court is a disgrace to America, the rule of law, and to upholding the Constitution.
