Oh, great question. I would think fantasy versions would work off a familiar language. It's hard enough to go from ancient Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic to say, English. I mean, I know I wouldn't go to all that trouble for a fake language. :-)

Sure, but a lot of intensity can go into biblical translations. For example, an entire alphabet for the Gothic language was invented for the sole purpose of translating the Bible into Gothic. I think a few other originally unwritten languages also acquired written forms for that reason.
