The Russian gov send in an abuse request for the @Bellingcat to be removed from mstdn.social :amaze:

That's literally what the Russian government has in place to isolate itself from the Internet. It's so that the people of Russia won't have access to outside news sources and stuff.The government and military itself won't be affected since they can access the Internet via gateways to other countries

Interestingly a lot of VPNs don't work in Russia. Also what's really annoying is the habit of VPN companies to use the web browser to log into the vpn service so if the vpn website is blocked then you have no way of logging in. It's an annoying practice.
