Honestly, if you didn't get on with either of those, you probably wouldn't like Champloo either, same creator. It's samurai and hip hop instead of space guys and jazz. I'd say it's more like, easygoing if that makes sense.

My problem with both was that they were episodic and didn't really have much of a story so it was very hard to get invested, I still finished Bebop but I just found it really boring. I think years of people hyping it up didn't help with my expectations either.
I can see that. I really enjoy bebop, but I can see hearing it's the best anime ever over and over could raise expectations too high. I'd say champloo is a little less episodic, in that the characters do have an actual goal they're working towards, but it is mostly just situations on the journey.
