it is always darkest before the dawn and i am always the worst at drawing before i get better at it. also spending like a solid week organizing my ref images in eagle probably helped lmfao. i highly recommend doing Reference Hog Stuff while you are in the slumpy part of the curve

a thing i started doing as my chronic pain got worse was prepping for drawings that i couldn't actually do at the time and i think that also works for slumps. even if you're drawing like shit you can at least do the really rough sketch or set up some 3D models or make the moodboard for later

I did this for essays to manage my ADHD! I couldn't make myself start writing the night before it was due, but I'd assemble my bibliography and pull quotes with page numbers and citations, so they were ready to go when I did write my essay. Truly astonishing no one ever diagnosed me in school lmao

it's a really good way to get stuff done. a lot of times when i don't have the brain to do all of my printing and sticker-cutting in the same day i'll do print one day and cutting the next lol

That post about "doing half a chore is better than doing no chores at all" is such a life saver, tbh!!! Maybe I don't need to be able to fold all my laundry at once! Maybe just making the task easier for Future Me is enough! And maybe it's enough to have the sticker sheets stacked and ready to go!
