Please do not underestimate the millions who voted AGAINST this takeover. We are not afraid of being “brave”; we are not afraid of the fight. But understand this, America is no longer “land of the free”. Think of it like “being taken over by Russia”. That’s where we are at the moment.
What are those millions doing? Waiting around because congressional dems said to do so.
That's an excuse to not act. We had our period of mourning and trump used that inaction to steamroll laws, rights, and federal agencies that did nothing but good. Now we either fight for real, or we lose. Period.
There have been and continue to be many protests nationwide. Hence Trump tweeting this morning threatening our right to protest and to pull federal funding for any university that allows protests.
We're not and we haven't been for decades. See the waiting for laws that won't be applied to tyrants? That's modern USA's method of fighting. So brainwashed by a system that's been broken for decades that we don't stand up, we sit back and wait for things anyone with a brain knowns won't do shit.
Lol America is absolutely not either of those things. We are a nation of bitter scared little bullies who yearn for nothing more than to lick the boots of those who oppress us.
Canadians get it. Within a month we've radically changed our domestic consumption. We are prepared to get real uncomfortable, live with austerity. We are ultimately prepared to fight. Elbows up. But it will never come to that. 1/2
"Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” America has enjoyed a long stretch of Good Times. Not sure who they imagine is coming to save them.
I hope you all rise.
Perhaps our American neighbors need to take some John Lewis advice and "get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America."
Agreed and thank you but our “good trouble” needs to take a turn. That’s one of our problems, we tried good trouble so now we need to switch to “an eye for an eye”, a principle of reciprocal justice that states punishment should be equal to the offense. 🍁🇨🇦
I know. Again, it’s a difficult thing. To be honest this is something I would have never imagined could be a possibility in my mid 40s. I love my country dearly though as I’m sure you do. That works best when we are friends.
