hmmm wondering if this acts in a preventative way for people already on blood thinners. (my elderly parent that can't comprehend risks takes them currently)
Friend of mine just send me a message about 3 people she knows that had heart attacks in the last week and says 'we need to eat better'. Sigh. She doesn't understand Covid. Why would she? Public Health says it's not at all dangerous, no masking is needed and you can go to work sick it's so 'mild'.
Seriously thinking of keeping post COVID pulmonary embolism patients on half dose anticoagulants indefinitely after initial 6-12 months full dose regimen. Anyone paying attention the last 5 years, not surprising. With added complication of infecting at least 30-40 different cell types directly.:((
Many of these damn pulmonary emboli do not resolve completely at 3-6 months, David. I expect the next round of pulmonary emboli, strokes, heart attacks, arrhythmias, bad heart function, etc, etc, to start going up in number in about 2-3 weeks. Argh.
The cycling of these complication after a wave of COVID infections is getting so predictable it is now darkly humorous. When I am not screaming internally or quietly crying.
Not entirely certain - no strong evidence FOR, though I am aware of a few folks who have benefited anecdotally. Probably safe as long as not on other antiplatelets or anticoagulants as well.
Thats always what I tell everyone if we get on the topic -- Covid is infectious vasculitis; it's not a respiratory infection.
It doesn't help that no public health authorities, not even the WHO, have made this clear.
I tried to explain that Covid is an inflammatory disease to a guy yesterday and the blank stare I got in returnβ¦..
But to be fair I probably got too technical when explaining how the virus spreads once inside your body.
Must remember to keep it simple.

We even took the stuff for like two years because we really didnβt know what else we could do.
Anyways, maybe there is something to it after all
βArghβ pretty much sums it up.
