Libgen as a library is an essential tool for many researchers in the third world and is sad to see it endangered because Meta had to put its paws on it. There are others shadow libraries that have protocols to help the authors, I don't know if that's the case with Libgen tho

probably anything with an isbn number got scraped somehow, possibly through a database like google books (i used to work for them and they scanned EVERYTHING but this was for preservation like 15 years ago :/). but also i did find lots of medical studies which we scanned too
