We had initial plans of using the remaining turbines of abandoned coal mines, for Gen 4 TMSR's, but ran into backhanded fossil fuels resurgence, at every turn. Now there's far less room/time to pursue these value spaces, let alone worry about fracking and methane amplification, from these sources.
