Saving up for a new laptop because holy smokes. I can keep an entire house in repair but my tech knowledge is limited to “turn it off and back on again”.

If you're running Windows 10 or 11, you can do a sort of "factory reset" that should solve any software problems. If that doesn't fix it, then yeah, it's probably time for a new computer.
I'm getting close to needing to replace my current laptop as well, as it's really starting to show it's age (especially the battery). Though I'm saving up to build a new tower PC, lol.
do the other stuff. clean, reset. but if do buy a new computer think about it first. what do you really use it for? i spent $200 on an HP laptop at best buy. 64gb SSD with about 14 gig after apps. i never use my computer. maybe start it up once a week. don't buy more than what you need or use.
lol actually I do but I can’t remember the last time I used it. The ink is probably dried out like stuff in the back of the lowest shelf in my refrigerator
eBay refurbished or open box. don't bother if the RAM is under 16GB. use "tiny11" or other similar programs to delete a lot of bloatware from the manufacturer. thank me later.
