I wanted to know the name of the horse that played a part in an old movie and while I always ignore the ai overview at the top, the fact that it named the horse the lead actor’s last name jumped out at me. For a split second I was so confused.
“Let me google that for you” is a long dead snarky retort at this point—asking knowledgeable people is not a bad idea, can be much more efficient depending on specificity and complexity of question.
I didn’t say experts were infallible, but they’re a darned sight better than the armchair pros of any variation. I’m confused as to what you wish to add to the conversation, aside from the hopelessness of ever receiving new knowledge one feels they can trust ever again.
Sorry if it is sounded offensive or something. I just meant that every source of information has its flaws. But you are right, google became much worse

“silver lining, we’re forced to learn through human connection. Greatest risk— human fallibility.”

Even searching in quotes, with boolean modifiers, Google refused to give me results for anything but "RACES response".
Absolutely shameful.
