2020 was the first time I voted for a democrat. This last election I canvassed for Biden/Harris, worked the polls, & wrote postcards. I’ve been to 2 rallies at my state’s capitol & attended the People’s March. I’ll never vote for a republican again. I’m mortified by their abhorrent behavior - ThreadSky

I was a Republican until 2016. Honestly, I never cared much about politics. My parents were Republicans, so I registered as one as well. I probably couldn't even tell you the difference between Republicans and Democrats until then. Trump changed EVERYTHING. I have been non-stop politics since. 💙

It actually goes even further back than Nixon. In 1954 the Supreme Court ruled on Brown v BoE telling Christian schools they have to accept everyone regardless of skin color. Religious racist zealots got their panties in a bunch making it their mission to destroy our country.

The election was rigged, in that Musk and his billionaire minions manipulated the electronic voter results of all swing states. Along with voter suppression in various forms, this tipped the scales.

For me, it was 2008 and Sarah Palin. And I liked McCain, so it was a little hard to switch. Then in 2012, when not a single Republican candidate would affirm that the theory of evolution was scientific and should be taught in school, I couldn't go back. Then in 2016... you know the rest.
