If there's one great about Tolkien's writing, it's that there is both a is and is and isn't a Chosen One narrative. Aragorn is a Chosen One, while Frodo is not. Thorin is a Chosen One, while Bilbo is not. And yet the stories hinged, not on the princes and kings, but on the rustic hobbits.
