I get the second Them response in EVERY situation. If I had a fatal disease they'd shrug and find a way to downplay/dismiss it. No one I know is capable of giving emotional support. 🤷♀️
I have a bad habit of pushing myself and one of these days I am going to learn. When others see me do that they question whether or not I am experiencing pain. I don't wish this crap on anyone but maybe for, like, an hour? Maybe they will not be so quick to judge.
It's such a bizarre thing to me to not believe your friend, daughter, wife (yes I'm using personal experience) is saying that they are in pain constantly yet you diminish that pain because you see them doing stuff. I do stuff because nobody will do it for me. Yes I have shitty support systems.
Oh lordy. Being in pain for one too many days is hell on the psyche. Having to be in a place where you're vulnerable, not able to think straight is awful. Sending good vibes your way.
Today my mom said "you have to be your own advocate" then told me about their friend who had a brain tumor who was denied. Okay I'm sorry for your friend but we're talking about me or I'm talking about me, I guess you don't care do you? I've had a chronic illness for 15 years & I always advocate
