Because frankly, with just a little energy, someone CAN borrow books from an online library but you have to put actual energy forth, return the books you borrowed, and wait for them to come available, like, you know, a library.

So people pull the same crap they always pull at bookstores, which is to return them instead of borrowing from the public library.

Some of my favorite authors, I'm glad to say, I found at the library, and then bought their books from a local bookstore.

Don't buy from Amazon.

Or buy straight from the author's website. Which frankly I'd rather do once I know I'm going to enjoy their work.

How do I know if I enjoy their work?

I borrow one of their books from the local library, and if I like it, I buy a copy of it.

I've NEVER loved a book I bought online or in a store sight unseen, author unknown.

It's always been recommended by a friend or colleague or family member.

Not great as far as popularity traction goes, but that's how I read.

I’ve returned two audiobooks in my time. One was just more graphic than I expected, and the other one was horrifically boring. Both were returned with less than a half hour’s play time.

I fail to understand how you can read an entire e-book and then return it. That’s just wrong.
