The bill removes a long-established protection that librarians and teachers weren't liable for sharing resources that might potentially fall under the vague "harmful to minors" standard now being weaponized against LGBTQ+ content and sex ed.

It's open season on educators.

The right claimed this gave librarians free reign to show kids "porn" — a glaring carve-out that should never have been there in the first place, they screamed.

So they rewrote the law. Except they left in two groups who can show children "harmful" material.

In other words, right-wing politicians and their Religious Right lackeys can not only keep their personal stashes of the same "porn" they would enslave librarians for possessing, but can even without penalty use it to groom....ahhhhh, I mean, "proselytize" underaged kids for their own purposes.
