I'm trying to rise above "the way it is" to "the way it should be". I've been vegan 46 years & vegetarian 56 yrs. I'm healthy. We can try to evolve to a way of living that causes the least amount of violence to sentient beings. I'm not retarded. We can get all our nutrients without killing animals.

That's what has been indoctrinated, but it's simply not true & I'm living proof. I am living just fine without any animal products. It takes re-education and a bit of effort, but we can get all we need without consuming violence to animals. Where there's a will; there's a way.

It hasn't been proven! Meat causes heart disease, cancer & is a host for pathogens. Processed meat increases your risk of bowel & stomach cancer. Red meat has been classified as a Group 2A carcinogen which means it probably causes cancer. Just because it's been done for eons, doesn't make it right.

Competition begets violence, or 'inhumanity' in this case. It's not causal. That necessity has knock-on effects where other things that aren't 'good' become more acceptable, but the inherent problem is, and always will be, material. If we had never needed meat for food, we wouldn't have this now.

Humans & the great apes of Africa -- chimpanzees (including bonobos, or so-called “pygmy chimpanzees”) & gorillas - share a common ancestor that lived between 8 and 6 million years ago. Humans first evolved in Africa, and much of human evolution occurred on that continent.

If people condemn violence, they should stop consuming violence; literally living off the violent assault of animals. There is a relationship. It makes people more violent. When people "veganize" - they often become more gentle, peaceful.
