Yeah the thing is like when I play it now endgame is ante 10. My deck isn’t actually good unless it beats ante 10. Ante 12 is when the line between the good deck and the great deck is drawn.
as i said to another, the biggest initial hump you have to get over, the mindset shift you need, is embracing erasing cards in your deck that aren't helping, and that goes for jokers too. the first thought is 'let's just play Normally' but you have to MAKE the deck you want/need
let's give an example i've used before to explain this: i'm running a green deck, so it's VERY EASY to get money, especially at the start. and i get either Bull or Bootstraps pretty quickly (or even better, both!). from there i have to approach the deck on a means to maximize MONEY.
so when i pick up tarot cards, what i'm looking for often is Magician, so i can make Lucky Cards. the 1 in 20 odds for getting 20 bucks is offputting, yes, but if you keep adding lucky cards, you have much greater odds per hand to get an extra 20 bucks, which means more chips, more mult.
and from there i just double down on trying to maximize maximum money per hand. i want red seals on as many of my lucky cards as i can get, so i can not only get a points boost, but get another shot per played card at getting 20 bucks. and using Death to copy red seal lucky cards when i can.
