ultimately though i think most of the people on this kick aren't really thinking in terms of strategy and what would work best. i think a lot of them are just scared and the uncertainty of what would happen after conflict scares them even more. but they don't want to or know how to express that - ThreadSky

so everything comes out mostly as a means to just try to tamp down things that'll make the fear and anxiety go away, but expressed as "strategy". few deeply, root ideology believe this will fix the issues. they're just telling you they're scared and they want the fear to stop.

that's not said mockingly either. it's a very understandable, sympathetic thing, to be afraid, to be anxious. to see these things happening and not only be afraid of that, but be afraid of what might come next.

but one can't let that fear dictate how to actually address an issue.

Often I hear the concern of "people are gonna die if we do this tho" and while I genuinely understand the fear, I also need these people to understand thus stuff is happening because people are ALREADY dying and having lives ruined, amongst other things

lot of it is just conflict aversion. and boy i'd love for it to be true that we can solve these massive issues without ANY direct conflict along the way

but we can't!
