I hope I've not misunderstood the question, but frequent comment I hear is "I check air pollution levels, and they look fine", meaning "green/good" on sites that monitor. But the "green/good" often is actually quite bad air qual. Maybe some kind've indicator to show "over WHO levels" or something.

We've not previously placed our measurements in the context of guidelines or legal limits, but that's a good suggestion. I think what you're talking about DAQIs, which is something one could do, but as you say, these only pick out the extreme events. (1/2)

Worth saying that AQIs are more for short term exposure for susceptible individuals, rather than the annual averages that are more important for the general population (like the WHO 5µg/-3 thing for PM2.5). But the flipside is that you need a year's worth of data to say if you're over those. (2/2)
