Charles aides insisting he was going to have a scaled-down Coronation because he was mindful of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. If £72mil is his idea of 'scaled down' I hate to think what a full-blown Coronation like his mother's would have cost. Allwhile families decided between heating or food.
Starmer accepts the 1000s of excess deaths his vile policy to freeze pensioners. Guessing the elderly are paying for this pompous opulent charade with their lives
The Richest prick in the country gets his plebs to pay for His coronation!! We are a joke of a country for the way we let these parasites take take take. Pay for your own coronation, wedding, funeral you grifting leeches😡
Lots of reports on how much the monarchy cost you.
I've was born a "subject" & have become a "citizen".
Gone from being expected to curtsey to having rights, but also responsibilities, enshrined in law.
I know which I prefer.
The amount of money wasted on things like this is disgusting & don't get me started on how he took time out of his birthday celebrations to open food banks 😡
Don't forget his £45 Million pay rise from tax payers this year. Yes, he pays some tax, though nowhere near the proportions you or I could ever hope to pay.
Is the cost of the second Scottish coronation included in this, and the new sword that he demanded and we paid for? Utter, utter nonsense. Get them gone, or paying their own way if we can't persuade the grovelling minions.
People in the U.K. still sick from COVID. Myself, I’m chronically physically sick from BREXIT and totally allergic from the 52% of the pig brained ( majority racist ) lot who voted for it. 💪🏾
Jesus f@#%ing christ.... all this because ultimately William came over from Normandy, killed thousands and said, 'this is now all mine'.
In the modern age I find the idea of a monarchy repugnant. But sadly the UK is not alone, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium etc etc. They're all at it!
The Swedish royal family live like relatively normal citizens and gave their palaces to the people to be used as public buildings. Our monarchy is the most expensive and the least egalitarian.
I've spent quite a bit of time in Sweden... Gothenburg area so I'm familiar with the monarchy. I think 'relatively' may be a bit of an exaggeration.. they still have very privileged lives. I just think monarchs are outdated and a thing of the past.
Oh I agree with you, which is why I used relatively. But absolutely there is no place for the monarchy in the modern world. I have long wanted this bizarre feudal system to stop.
Yup, and then the current lot are here because of a choice of the establishment. They chose the 51st in line because he was the most suitable Protestant.
Mad isn't it

Constitutional monarchy looks much healthier when compared with Trump or perhaps Farage.
What gets me is all the daft buggers that stick up for them. This country is nuts 😏
Where do I democratically go to change the UK monarchy setup ?
