Have you been to a job centre lately? There are no jobs advertised in any of them. You are in and out in 5 minutes flat with your appointment. All the courses I've got on have been through my own endeavour.Once you walk out that door, they forget all about you.

I hate the comparison to Chamberlain

Chamberlain's actions were done with UK's best interests at heart (while enacting a program of rearmament)

When viewed benevolently, his actions succeeded in delaying war til U.K./France were better prepared. At worst it is naivety
