1: There is relatively sparse activity on #CommSky and I’d like to cultivate more posting under the hashtag so the feed has substance. But right now the feed is mostly passive with only a small number of people ever posting to it. How can that be grown? What’s missing? 2/5

2: Because international travel to and from the US is going to be disrupted soon (visas, air safety, etc.), we need space to have discussions with each other. #CommSky can be that, if we grow it into that. But I cannot grow a discursive space alone; it needs other people. 3/5

3: I don’t have a good mental map of which sub-fields are on BlueSky right now. It would be neat to have different specializations cross talk on #CommSky (I always learn interesting observational methods from pragmatics, for example), but that may not be viable. Who should be cultivated? 4/5

So, that’s where things are. I keep getting requests to “join” the #CommSky feed, which is no longer necessary, so there is a how-to article somewhere giving that advice. That might present a barrier? I don’t know. But broadly, I don’t know how to get people talking, either. I’d love some ideas. 5/5

So I have the CommSky feed pinned on my Bluesky mobile app, but it only shows your posts. I can search the #CommSky hashtag, but I’ve not found a way I can pin or save it like a feed.

Oh thank you. I had tried to move away from the pre-screened list in December toward just the hashtag and some exclusion criteria (like Hellthread stuff) and didn’t notice a stray regex expression. It should work now — let me know if it doesn’t.
