What I don't know is if the Foresters tried to outflank it by crossing the other bridge a few hundred yards away. I need to do some more digging.

An excellent site, Gary - Paul's book is highly informative. There is quite a bit of (disputed) bullet strike evidence still visible... I've a secondary paper 'gestating' on this, concentrating solely on the Nots & Derbys - the chronology of the narrative is really telling.
