I do think it would be more productive to admit we are in an authoritarian state right now, and that courts are fighting that, and that we need to fight that.

Any thoughts on faculty shutting down classes and walking out - en masse - and all over the country in a coordinated statement of non-violent non-compliance because students are being harmed, and faculty should lead the student response in good will for the common good?
Let's fight! https://Generalstrikeus.com This is how we do it. Withholding our labor and money (boycotts) are our points of leverage. #generalstrike #wethepeople Go sign the strike card today!
Calling the US an "Authoritarian state" is a bit of an understatement. The government in the US has gone beyond all basic recognition of humanity. & NO, Donald & Elon, that's *not* a compliment!
We voted for an authoritarian state knowing it was going to be an authoritarian state because we watched in horror for four years during Trump’s previous authoritarian government and saw exactly what an authoritarian state was like but media and progressives want chaos. So. Why gaf anymore.
It's a mixed bag in my community who is paying attention and how much attention they are paying. I wonder how close it has to hit for it to truly "hit home" for some folks. Too close I think. Which, in itself, is awful. The lack of empathy and imagination is breathtaking.
So, so many people also just don't know or pay attention to what is happening. The same way they accepted promises about tariffs without knowing what those were. Many people just don't diligently read or watch news. 😅
Insofar as USA can ever claim to have had a democratic republic, it existed from 1965 (Voting Rights Act) until 2013 (Holder v Shelby County). And that date is generous: Citizens United v FEC in 2010.
It’s the tufts student has convinced me. I live here in Boston. Revoking a visa without warning, grabbing her off the street, detaining her without due process, it’s so, so, illegal. Also the video of DHS Sec which I will not be sharing
It would be meaningful, I think, for Boston-area universities to come together on a statement condemning this kidnapping. Do you think there’s any appetite amongst admins to do something like that?

It’s not about keeping our democracy anymore, it’s about how can we get it back.
Donald Trump just bombed Civilians living in Yemen.
Trump “disappeared” Venezuelan Nationals to a prison.
This is exactly what Authoritarian Dictator Vladimir Putin does.
THIS is how much of the world now views Americans, and it’s only gonna get worse if y’all continue to be complicit.
Failure to act by ALL Americans, is complicity, and y’all may be held responsible in a court one day if you don’t get off your asses and DO something.
What specifically can we as individual citizens do? Please DM me if you want to chat.
