In the late '80s my college gf and I rented a duplex apartment with a pepto-bismol pink bathroom. Tub, toilet, sink, and the wall tiles all matched. One day we found pink toilet paper at the grocery store and bought it on a lark.
I loved matching my total paper to my bathrooms but they stopped making it because “Apparently, doctors began warning people that the dyes in colored toilet paper could be harmful to their skin. And there were environmental concerns about the dyes, too” https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/colored-toilet-paper-history-255476
I have no idea. I just know that if it was a nickel more than regular, mom wouldn't buy it. At least she drew the line at two ply, we did have SOME standards. 😉
