I’m still reading it —- it’s honestly so good I had to get a highlighter cause so many lines of Cormac’s writing reads like poetry. It’s dark, serious and sad— but really really good so far
McCarthy is very high on my tbr, but I'm thinking of starting with Blood Meridian as I'm a little familiar with The Road already through its movie adaptation.
Definitely see the TLOU relationship there though. Both dads have the same character flaw and drive in the same bleak post apocalyptic world
I'm good at that haha.
But I have thumbed through some of McCarthys pages when I find his books in thrift stores and his style definitely seems a bit abrasive. The little bits I seen seem like a total abandon of general writing "Rules," and I'm interested in exploring it further.
