Looking at the website, they're pretty upfront about what they are-- they aren't hiding how they work, but I asked more questions because I wanted to see what the deal was.

The video referenced is about 12 min long-- it wont let me download it without a paid youtube sub, but it does, very clearly, lay out how it works, including the fact that you, as the writer, outline it, and the AI writes it for you. Here are some screencaptures:
You add in variables to drive the story tracks, etc. And then you CAN write a little bit, but the AI does most of it for you, since the story is built around what the reader chooses.
You guide the AI in the directions you want it to go, but I don't think this is genuinely being a 'writer', for obvious reasons, not to mention we all know how AI works for writing.
The guidelines for the payment and content is flimsy at best, as well as underpaid. Obviously, I turned this down-- albeit politely-- but I was pretty skeeved out by this entire thing.
