I had to read the article to understand why there was a picture of Harvard. (The irony is that Harvard is probably the best univ. situated to survive this.)

The irony, too: In my offline capacity, I just (!) recently gave a talk about R&D and the importance of government policy support/funding at WAITRO.

I’ve managed NSF grants. This is how you pay to keep the heat lights & electricity on where you’re doing the work. It’s not extravagant, there’s a big back-and-forth on every grant to make sure you’re not padding. All of it is already negotiated and audited by the federal government.
