I think it shouldn't be the case without a separate category. Feels too much like a cheap cop out, it makes me point and laugh at how hollow these "award shows" feel now. Like celebrate the people that made the games, be happy about the games but don't be like that man sheesh!

There's been so many DLC this year too, you can easily fill a category!
Alan Wake II, FFXIV, FFXVI, Starfield, Elden Ring, WOW...
But yes, I always felt the Game Awards were trying too much to be an Oscar ceremony with a lot of celebrities, and some awards are not even received on stage 😓

I feel like after probably nearing 20,000 hours of Counter-Strike since 2001, I would absolutely write the most scathing piece about the entire series, and then I'd hit the "recommend" button after lmao.
