Partly because trans men (in their minds) do not threaten their "order of things". To them it's only natural for a "weak, inferior woman" to want to be a man. This is something they can downplay and infantilize. It's a lot harder for them to understand why a "man" would socially die to be a woman.

The existence of trans women threatens the legitimacy of their patriarchal mindset. These are people who view women as lesser subservient creatures, created specifically for them. The existence of trans women brings light to fact that being a woman is actually something one can aspire to.

You're not entirely wrong there but there is absolutely an element of "I'm superior" going on here. The reason "gay = bad" is because it's a "violation" of the hierarchy. "men" are not supposed to be the "submissive" participant but they're still at least "men". It's stupid but it has thought too.

The reason gay=bad is that they're seen as women (who they deem inferior) without being useful for sex.

They see trans people as gays they could be "tricked" into having sex with because they can see an attraction they won't admit to bc it's gay.

You misunderstand. What I’m getting at is that both of you are correct. “Gay=bad” is what is often going on in their heads and nothing more. That doesn’t make the above explanation incorrect in describing why people believe that way and the pressures that formed “gay=bad”

I really wonder how many trans kids there are in the state of Maine, and how many of that number are athletes. Must practically be in the dozens. All this mess over a vanishingly small number of people, while millions don’t have healthcare.

I read somewhere it’s 4 trans girls. I think it was the change dot org petition. In fact, trans people as a whole, make up 1% of the population. They are worried about the wrong 1%.
