Well it looks like TikTok is back. But their welcome message is a massive cause for concern.
1. He’s not president yet. (Inauguration is tomorrow)

3. Twitter (X), Facebook and now TikTok are bending a knee. You’re about to see even more extreme posts, videos and stories that will push his agenda.
4. Pay attention to what happens next. Be aware when you’re being told to feel a certain way against certain groups of people.
5. Question everything. There is going to be a massive AI push. Fake videos, photos, accounts, posts and comments are already circulating social media and it’s only going to get worse.
6. Resist when you see his agenda being pushed through these platforms. Here are some ideas:

- Call out bigotry, hatred and division when you see it.
- Don’t buy from companies advertising on these platforms.
- If you go down the comment rabbit hole, check profiles of accounts who make extreme comments. It’s likely they’re new (AI or dupe account) and block them. The less hatred you’re exposed to, the less effective it will be.
- Support and amplify accounts that help others.
- If you are done with these apps (because we’re all going to question why we’re still on them at some point) and you’re going to remove your account, tell your friends and followers why. Give them a chance to question their own involvement.
- If you need social media for your own business or to promote your work then be extra vigilant and extra supportive. We’re all going to have to make changes. Nothing is going to be how it used to be and there’s nothing any of us can do about it except to change with it and counter it.
