Preach. I have a pride lanyard and pride mug at work. I always have my camera on too, for calls. Two people have thanked me. Both saw me and knew at least one person was on their side. Damn right I'm on OUR side
I wrote a dress on campus for 8 hours a few years back for similar reasons. At the risk of being impressed I think I looked pretty good, too. And my masculinity didn't burst into flames or anything!
We put a flag in our yard after the election to support our neighbors w/ kids so they know we have their backs. They are a family, it doesn’t matter who their parents are as long as those kids are loved and cared for…and they are.
Other countries don't have pride parades because being non-heteronormative is extremely banal there. They may as well have parades over preferred pizza toppings. In other words, to all the bigots that don't like rainbow flags, stop being so invested in other people's sex lives, you weak snowflakes.
I'm aware of that but I don't have the space to put something so nuance in so few characters so I just went with the minimum amount of words needed to convey a message to people who can't disassociate sex and loving relationships in the first place (probably because they have neither)
I display it because I am an Ally. I have friends and family who are LGBTQ. So much hate in the world it's good for people to know you're on their side.

Which means the trans/rainbow flags not only signal that I'm OK for a fat white CIS male, they also serve as bigot repellant.
