Had one installed about ten years ago. Brilliant, especially after the hub was upgraded a few years ago. Especially useful for me being away a lot. I wouldn’t be without it. Except I will be in the New Year when I move fully. I don’t think there’s an app to remotely bring the firewood in.
I’ve had mine about two years and at least three times it has failed and each time I had to spend hours - and in one case, days - trying to troubleshoot it with the help of their dysfunctional online ‘help’ or their unobtainable ‘support’.
I’m well into my third hour of trying to get it fixed again. It was out of action for more than a week earlier in the year. The reason was that something at their end needed to be done (having exhausted their torturous ‘troubleshooting guide’)
Obvs, there were countless endurance-based barriers to getting this done.
Today, I’ve done their full trouble shooting loop. I waited on a chat function for nearly an hour and was told that I didn’t have a warranty (?) and was disconnected.
Tried everything on the app a few times and suddenly a chat function that is usually unavailable started working (first time in countless attempts). It took a while and there were a few language barriers but eventually I was talked through a very simple process that got it working again.
Their online help is awful. There aren’t that many things that can go wrong and when I finally contacted a human being it was a simple “do this… wait for xxx to happen then do yyy….” - all straightforward stuff.
Pissing customers off is something they can get away with so they do it.
